Hiked the Narrows Riverside Walk, Scout Lookout Trail and the Emerald Pools Loop in Zion National Park, Utah. Ate dinner at the Zion Brew Pub and stayed at The Fairfield Inn in Virgin, Utah.

Breakfast at The River Rock Roasting Company in La Verkin Utah. Hiked the Lava Tubes via Lava Flow Trail in Snow Canyon State Park. Visited the waterfalls in Gunlock State Park and watched the cliff jumpers. Stopped at the famous Veyo Pie Shop.

Toured the scenic Las Vegas Boat Harbor and had coffee at the Harbor House Cafe. Rode the Railroad Tunnel Trail at Lake Mead. Spent time walking across the Hoover Dam.

Drove from Kingman, AZ to Henderson, NV. Drove over the Hoover Dam bypass bridge. Spent the day at the Paseo Verde Library in Hendersen, NV. Ate dinner at the Bottiglia Cucina & Enoteca Italian restaurant in the Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino. Stayed at the Boulder Beach Campground in the National Recreation Area near Hoover Dam.

Ate lunch at Lilo’s in Seligman, AZ. Toured Seligman on Route 66. Drove north through the desert to Kingman. Marveled at the amount of trains passing through Kingman.

Hiked Thumb Butte Trail 33 in the Prescott National Forest.

Let Dead Horse Ranch Campground. Drove to Sedona. Sedona was very crowded because of Spring break. Booked a couple of nichts at Prescott National Forest.

Drove from the Meteor Crater campground towards Sedona. Booked a night at the Dead Horse Ranch Campground. Took an 8 mile mountain bike ride.

Visited the old Twin Arrows Gas Station on Rt. 66. Went to Meteor Crater.

Visited Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Drove to Flagstaff, AZ.

Spent the day at the Navajo Trading Post at the Top of Monument Valley waiting for the weather to clear.

Woke at Shiprock mountain and prepared for the drive to Monument Valley. Spent many hours in Monument Valley. Had dinner at the Navaho Monument Valley Trading Post, the views were spectacular.

Drove to Shiprock Mountain in New Mexico and hiked for hours near the rock. I stayed overnight at the base of the mountain in peace and silence.

Woke in the The Chaco Culture National Historic Park. Stopped in the visitors center but decided to the park later when the weather was better. Lunch in Farmington, New Mexico. Hiked the badlands trail in Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness.

Skied Taos Ski Resort most of the day. Drove to Chaco Culture National Historic Park.

Drove from Sanata Fe to Taos, New Mexico. Ate lunch at the Farmhouse Cafe and Bakery. Organized everything for sking tomorrow at Taos. Ate dinner at the Hodo Restaurant in the Taos Ski Resort village.

Had my cooler and water jug stolen in Albuquerque. Drove to Santa Fe, NM and spent the afternoon at Vista Grande Public Library.

Visited White Sands National Park. Had to wait for a missile test to complete “down range” before entering at 2:00 pm. Drove to Albuquerque in the late afternoon.
