Drove from Natchez State Park in MS to Little Rock AK. Crossed the Mississippi river.

Cleaned up after the downpour. Toured the Longwood / Nutt House an antebellum era octagonal house. Drove around Natchez taking photos. Stopped at the Proud To Take A Stand Memorial. Photographed the bridge over the Mississippi river at sunset. Dinner at The Camp Restaurant by the riverfront.

Visited the city of Nathez, MS. Toured the Cathedral of St. Mary Basilica.

Toured the Vicksburg National Memorial. Visited the USS Cairo display. Drove around the town of Vicksburg. Drove down the Natchez Trace Parkway and stopped at some of the ancient Indian Mounds along the parkway. Setup camp in the Natchez Trace State Park.

Drove north from the Gulf Coast to Vicksburg. Started the tour at the Vicksburg National Memorial.

Visited the Gulf Islands National Seashore and rode the bike on all the trails. Spent the afternoon in Biloxi, riding bike, photographing murals, buildings, and the water. Ate at the Half Shell near the Hard Rock Cafe Casino. Visited The Shed restaurant.

Spent the day staying warm in the Corinth, Mississippi Public Library.

Went hiking in Tishominogo State Park. Checked out the CCC Camp Trail and then hiked Bear Creek Trail in the morning. In the afternoon, hiked the Saddleback Ridge and Flat Rock trails.

Hiked Sipsey Wilderness National Preserve near Huntsville, AL.

Spent the entire day at the US Space And Rocket Center. Had dinner at Bravo Italian nearby.

Visited the Little River Canyon National Preserve and DeSoto State Park. Drove along the Little River Canyon Rim Parkway and stopped at various overlooks. Hike down to the Little River Canyon. Stopped at the dam in DeSoto State Park to see the falls. Hiked down to the pond near the falls.

Hung out at the Homewood Library. Hiked Ruffner Mountain in the afternoon. Drove to Fort Payne and had a Mexican meal at Los Arcos.

Spent the day at the library in Homewood, AL. Dinner at Dave’s Pizza in Homewood. Avoided the rain.

Went to the overlook at the restaurant in Cheaha State Park. Did a mountain bike ride on Deer Run, Lower Spring, Upper Spring and Cheaha Express trails. Climbed the tower at the highest point in Alabama. Hiked to Bald Rock. Spent time at the Cabins watching the sun set. Drove to Birmingham.

Passed through Goodwater, and Ashland Alabama on the way to Cheaha State Park.

Toured The National Monument for Peace and Justice. Visited The Mothers of Gynecology Park. Stopped at the Fight Pickett House. Stopped at the First White House of the Confederacy. Photographed street lights in Montgomery.

Toured the Montgomery State Capital grounds. Toured the inside of the capital building. Rode the streets downtown and visited MLK’s Baptist church, the Rosa Parks statue, various buildings, Riverfront Park, Union Station. Learned about the “Lightning Route” trolley. Toured the Legacy Museum.
