A Quiet Day in Grand Teton

It was my fourth day at Gros Ventre Campground. After the previous day's long hike and unexpected adventures, I decided to take it easy. I didn't set an alarm and ended up sleeping nearly 11 hours. I felt surprisingly good considering all the hiking I'd done, but I had no desire to go anywhere. I just wanted to relax, read and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

I took a couple of short walks around the campground but spent most of the day cleaning and organizing the van, catching up on some reading and sitting outside in the sunshine. It was one of those days when I was perfectly content doing very little.

By mid-afternoon, my neighbors had decided to run their generators, so I drove to an overlook and spent a couple of hours enjoying the view of the Tetons. The temperature was in the low 70s, and there were few cars around.

I eventually returned to the campground. It had been a relaxing day and a welcome break from constantly being on the move.
