Visit with Larry in New Smyrna Beach. Ice Cream in the middle of nowhere. Drive around Gainesville, Florida.

Boat tour of Biscayne National Park. Listened to the history of the Jones Family and the development of the park area. The Coco Lobo Club had an impact on the development of the park. Visit to Boca Chita Key. History of ecology in the area and the major players.

Primarily drove from Sugarloaf Key to Biscayne National Park. Spent time at the park visitor’s center.

Cycled around the old town of Key West. Visited the Southernmost Point in the USA. Visited the Key West Lighthouse. Photographed the feral chickens of Key West. Visited the VFW post. Watched the sunset from the Wharf and took in various street acts. Listened to a lot of live music on the street and in bars and restaurants. Watch with interest as a cruise ship set sail. Went to various military points of interest. Photographed the lights of the old town at night.

Walk the Echo Pond Trail. Went to the Visitor’s Center and Marina to photograph the manatees. Took a bike ride on Snake Bight Trail. Walked the boardwalk at West Lake. Stopped at Nine Mile Pond and searched for the lookout tower. Had lunch at Mahogany Hammock Trail.

Spent most of the day dealing with a flat tire. Took the car to Subaru of Pembroke Pines and bought four new tires.

Woke early and took photos of the sun rising on Monument Lake. Kayaking trip in Big Cypress National Preserve. Visited the Ochopee postoffice, the smallest in United States.

Drove from Nice to Big Cyprus National Preserve. Booked a Airboat ride with Wooten’s. Hung-out at the Visitor’s Center. Setup my campsite at Monument Lake.

Visit to the Naples Botanical Gardens.

Toured Pine Island near Cape Coral Florida. Took in the distraction of hurricane Ian. Took a short bike ride in the Pinewood Trails Park. Had dinner at the Cove restaurant at the Paradise Coast Sport Complex and celebrated the new year the band call Nastaljah and a lot of strangers from all over the country.

Visited the Edison / Ford Winter homes. Toured the museum, botanical gardens and laboratory. Dinner at Millenial Brewing.

Spent the day at the Kennedy Space Center.

Visit to St. Augustine on a crowded high season day. Mostly walked the city.

Visited Jekyll Island Driftwood Beach again. Coffee at the Jekyll Club and a walk on a secluded beach. Drove through the Holly Jolly Jekyll light display. Dinner at CJ’s Italian Restaurant on St. Simons Island.

Visit to Jekyll Island. Photographed the driftwood at sunrise and sunset. Rode the bike trail loop around the island. Visited the Horton Tabby House and read the plaques nearby. Rode around the Jekyll Island Club and had coffee at the cafe.

While it rained, I visited the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters. Lunch at Asher+Rye. Stopped to looked at the General Alexander R Lawton Building. In the afternoon I went to Bonaventure Cemetery until is closed. In the evening I went to River street downtown to walk around.

Walked Forsyth Park and walked the neighborhood looking at homes. Toured the Mercer house and found the renovated This Old House project adjacent to the Mercer house. Walked Jones Street and took in the multi-colored houses. Photographed the outside of the Armstrong Kessler Mansion (closed). In the evening walked River Street and took in the sites. Discovered a display of Washington’s Guns in the center of Savannah.
